Our Free Church Youth Camps couldn't run this year, and so neither could their very popular bookstalls. Instead, the Mission Board decided to send a copy of Chris Ranson's 'Dig Into Matthew' to each camper who wanted one. That was 145 copies of this excellent book that made their way to campers across Scotland and beyond, and we pray the Lord uses them to inspire and encourage our wonderful young folk!
Here's what a couple of them had to say...
"The book helps me understand the history of Israel 2000 years ago and this puts into perspective what it was like for Jesus. I like how the book goes through Matthew a few verses at a time and explains it in interesting ways sometimes using illustrations. It has questions at the end of each passage and they challenged me to think hard about how I live my life. One example of how this book helped me is in the parable of the soils, and I finally understood it and I started to think where I was on the list of different soils." - Anndra Cumming
"It surprised me how funny and humorous the book was because when I first saw it I was like, “Oh great another same daily reading book,” I was not expecting it to be quite so funny, interesting and challenging to anyone and everyone looking to have Jesus as their best friend. I would DEFINITELY recommend this book to all my friends and family!!" - Lois Macleod
If you haven't yet read this book, or given a copy to the teenagers and young adults in your life, then you really must. It's not too late - and it's only £4.99 or less!
And...we must give a huge thank you to our bookshop partners, 10ofthose, for making the logistics of this possible despite all the restrictions.
