I have found journalling one of the most effective ways of meditating on the Word of God as it slows down my thinking process and enables me to put random words into meaningful sentences. This Scripture Journal of 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus is a helpful tool for anyone who is serious about reading and mirroring God’s word in their lives.

It can be used personally as well as in a Bible study group which would require pre-group homework. One to one bible studies are becoming a familiar part of church life today and so would be a simple aid for this kind of deep discussion.

Each letter is begun with a helpful explanation of the reason for Paul’s decision to write to Timothy and Titus, expecting his letters to be read out to the churches in Ephesus and Crete. All three summaries are applicable to churches today and ensure the reader is well equipped to practically apply Godly wisdom to current situations.

At the end of the journal there is a table for reading the New Testament in a year which supports the insight that Paul gives to the Christians in his letters. Very obligingly the New Testament divides equally into five chapters per week, which at less than one chapter a day is not an onerous task.

This is a useful notebook to carry anywhere with a pen, jotting down reflections and thoughts that will have an impact on a lifetime, empowering the reader to ‘keep the faith’.
