With chapters like 'Infinite, Incomprehensible, Self-Existent, Immutable, Omniscient, Omnipresent, Sovereign, Eternal', this could be a very heavy book. But Jen Wilkin explores each of these attributes of God within the context of her own life in a very engaging and interesting way without reducing any of these truths. She uses Scriptural examples all through the book to bring to life these huge aspects of God’s character. The sub-title of this book is '10 Ways God is different from us (and why that’s a good thing)' and each chapter looks at one of God’s attributes and how set-apart God is from us. The author uses very modern and down-to-earth examples in her own life to relate well to the reader and you are left feeling humbled by God’s attributes, as well as secure and grateful in your faith.

We used the book in a women’s bible study group and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and benefitted from the discussion generated by the questions at the end of each chapter. There are also verses for meditation and a prayer at the end of each chapter and whilst Wilkin reminds us of deep theological truths, her book is an encouraging, devotional and thought-provoking read.
