After his wife became a Christian, Lee Strobel, committed atheist and award-winning US investigative journalist began to thoroughly investigate the Biblical claims about Christ, primarily to prove to himself that they were unfounded. For two years he interviewed thirteen scholars with impeccable academic credentials about the evidence presented by theology, sociology, philosophy, medicine, psychology and history. After doing so, he concluded that the case was overwhelming, not only for the existence of God, but also for the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

At that point in November 1981 he became a Christian and began a ministry to teach others what he had learned about Christian apologetics. In this book ‘The Case for Christ: A Journalist’s Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus’, Lee Strobel retraces and expands upon his 2-year spiritual journey presenting all the solid data and cogent arguments gathered from his interviews, examining numerous categories of proof which support the Case for Christ – eyewitness evidence, corroborating evidence, scientific evidence, rebuttal evidence, psychological evidence, circumstantial evidence, and, yes, even fingerprint evidence! (Did Jesus, and Jesus alone, match the identity of the Messiah?)

If you want to learn more about Christian apologetics and the huge amount of varied evidence supporting the Biblical claims about Jesus, then I cannot recommend this book highly enough. A thoroughly encouraging book and a great gift for any unbelieving friends. (f you like this book you will also like ‘The Case for Christ Study Bible (NIV): Investigating the Evidence for Belief.’)
