This interesting and illuminating book by Lindsay Brown demonstrates the continuing value of studying the work of the two great reformers, Luther and Calvin. Brown discusses the historical context of the Reformation and the wide-ranging, lasting influence the Reformers had on major aspects of culture. However, the chapters of the book that I most benefited from were 'The Renewed Missionary Mandate' and 'Calvin’s Methodology'. These show clearly how Luther and Calvin were effective in initiating a strategic approach to extending the reach of the Gospel in Europe. Into all the World concludes by outlining ten important lessons for churches and missionary agencies today in their work of proclaiming the Gospel. This is a well-researched book which adds to the collection of contemporary works on the impact of the Reformation and the influence of Luther and Calvin in particular.
