This book is in many ways a gold mine, every day has a quote in it which is designed to stimulate thought and discussion. The sources of the quotes are varied from Samuel Rutherford to John Knox amongst others.

The one frustration that I did have with the book was that each day didn’t have its own page, so invariably as you look at the quote for one day your eye drifted towards what the quote for tomorrow would be.

That is probably a minor detail but on the whole this book is excellent a reminder of the history that Scottish Theology has, perhaps also a sign of how far the nation has fallen but a reminder that the God we serve who shook Scotland once can do it again.
