I love these books! I love the author’s chatty style, I love the way she starts each chapter with a modern day equivalent which you can identify with and which pierces you as you realise that yes, I am just like that too!

Whilst Higgs does perhaps put thought processes into the minds of these women of the Bible, she upholds the integrity of the Bible and when we are given no further information or on one of the women she doesn’t add anything, she leaves it as it is.

The books make you see that we are all flawed and even those great ‘mothers of Israel’ were flawed too in their actions and reactions too. Above all they point us to our need for a holy, humble and authentic walk with God.
