In Hidden Christmas, Timothy Keller takes us through the Christmas story with reflections on eight bible passages; beginning in Isaiah, then through the familiar gospel passages and concluding with 1 John. Originally delivered as sermons, each chapter has a rich gospel focus reminding us of the full meaning of Christ’s advent in a very readable yet theologically rich way.  As this book’s contents started life as various sermons given by Keller both the believer and the sceptic are addressed.  While this lack of a specific audience could be seen as a weakness for a book it does provides the reader with a helpful way of engaging with those we know who may share such scepticism. At about 150 pages it’s a quick read but one rich with awesome truths explained in an engaging and passionate way.
