I have found this commentary series so useful in personal Bible study, in preparing to preach and also as Bible study material, and ‘Hebrews For You’ is no different.

Mike Kruger writes with a pastor’s heart, always looking to bring out the rich theology within Hebrews while at the same time applying its truth for the Christian church both then and now.

While not digging in to all the complexities of Hebrews or fully tracing out all the Old Testament allusions, his work is a very useful guide built around the wonderful theme that ‘Jesus is better’. Its strengths are its readability, its clarity on crucial doctrines and especially on the person and work of Christ, but primarily in leading readers to worship as we are led to see more of the wonders of the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you want to dig into Hebrews for yourself, or to lead your church or small group into studying it, I can definitely recommend it as a great starting point.
