How can we faithfully follow Biblical teaching about the role of women in the church? We might think we have it cracked in terms of what our female members cannot do, but what about what they can, should and must be doing to enable the Church of Christ to flourish in its divinely-ordained manner? With a particular focus on how to encourage women to think theologically, read critically and participate biblically, Aimee Byrd evaluates biblical examples and historical Church movements to see where Christians have gone wrong and where they can go right. This is a notoriously thorny and emotive issue, and this book makes a good attempt at navigating these choppy theological waters, even if the author’s own particular bêtes noires are very obvious at points. One for ministers and elders first of all, but also a useful read for any theologically-minded woman.
